Amateur MMA fighter Shalie Lipp perished in a two-vehicle collision on Interstate 94 Sunday morning. She was 21 years old.

According to a crash report acquired by Valley News Live, Lipp was one of two occupants in a 2015 Chevy Malibu that “made contact” with a 2017 Jeep Cherokee transporting three occupants on Red River Bridge in Moorhead at roughly 11:30 a.m.

According to the study, Joseph Trottier, 35, of West Fargo, who was driving the car Lipp was riding in, was the only accident victim who wasn’t using a seat belt.

The other car’s passengers, whom the source did not name, were unharmed.

The accident is still being looked into.

On Sunday, the road was briefly shut down while authorities evacuated the area.

At No Mercy 11, which will take place on May 20 at Kent Freeman Arena in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, Lipp was slated to square off against Natalie Gage.

Promoter for “No Mercy,” Jeremy Bjornberg, claimed Lipp had just returned from a month-long training stint in Thailand.

“She had an amazing work ethic she had only been back a few days from a month of training in Thailand,” according to Bjornberg, who spoke to MyMMANews.

“At 19 years old, she started fighting the top fighters in the Midwest. … She was someone everyone knew was going to go somewhere and end up in the UFC.”

In an Instagram post from last month, Lipp expressed her excitement for the occasion.

In her message, she said, “I would love it if you guys came out and supported me so close to my hometown!” “Bring some friends, have a couple drinks, and enjoy some violence!”

A week before the accident, Lipp posted a video of herself practicing in the ring on Instagram.

At the time, she wrote, “Feeling sharp.”

Admirers and supporters are still leaving condolences on her social media posts.

According to her Instagram, Lipp last competed in Thailand on April 26, 2023.

She traveled to Thailand to practice Muay Thai and MMA.

In her amateur MMA career, Lipp is 3-2. Before being defeated by Cheyanne Bowers in March 2022, she won her first two matches.
