The first season of Star Trek: Prodigy featured a grand tale about six alien children who discovered the USS Protostar and decided to uphold the Starfleet principles with their mentor, Hologram Janeway (Kate Mulgrew).
As Prodigy season 1 went on, Vice Admiral Janeway (Kate Mulgrew) showed up to pursue the Protostar and learn what had become of the ship’s first Captain, Chakotay (Robert Beltran).
The young crew of the Protostar soon found themselves in the path of a cunning plan by Asencia (Jameela Jamil) and the Diviner (John Noble) to bring down Starfleet.
The longer-term fate of Dal (Brett Gray), Gwyn (Ella Purnell), their companions, and whether Starfleet would admit them into their ranks are equally significant.
When Will Star Trek Prodigy Season 2 Be Released?
The second season of Star Trek: Prodigy is anticipated to air later in 2023. Although work on the episodes for season 2 has begun, the Emmy-winning production design and great animation of the show still need to be finished.
One purpose of the first season’s release schedule was to give the production team ample time to finish animating the episodes.
Maybe Prodigy season 2 has a head start that will allow all 20 episodes to be released consecutively on Paramount+.
