Tammy Slaton accomplished a significant feat in her quest to lose weight.
In a series of fresh images shared on May 1 on sister Amy Slaton’s Instagram, the 1000-Lb Sisters actress surprisingly dispensed with her cane. Tammy, formerly over 700 pounds, required oxygen support and used a walker, she boldly stood on her own in the new photos after shedding over 300 pounds.
Of course, it didn’t take long for fans to applaud Tammy’s big moment. One follower wrote, “Tammy standing on her own? Big W.”
Another chimed in, “Seeing Tammy stand on her own is so heartwarming. Proud of y’all’s progress.”
“So happy to see Tammy moving around freely!” exclaimed a third.

Tammy’s weight loss journey, which has had notable highs and lows over the past three years, has been watched closely by fans. A 717-pound Tammy joined rehab in season four, which premiered earlier in 2023, to shed enough pounds to be authorized for bariatric surgery.
Tammy experienced a health crisis soon after starting rehab, which led to a tracheotomy and a medically induced coma. Despite this setback, Tammy eventually lost enough weight to be accepted for the treatment, which she called “a f—–g miracle.”
She said, “Finally, all my work has paid off,” in a scene that Parade shared first. “After all this bulls–t, all the sacrifices. I had to give up a lot. My soadies. My chocolate.”
Tammy’s weight loss journey can be caught up on thanks to Discovery+’s streaming of 1000-Lb Sisters.
