With the 100th and last episode of Teen Wolf airing in 2017, the show’s run on MTV came to an end. Even though the series’ final season aired more than five years ago, it’s finally returning in the form of a feature film. Paramount Plus and Teen Wolf series creator Jeff Davis have teamed together to make a new movie about new villains attacking Scott McCall and Beacon Hills, according to Variety.
When viewers last saw Scott on television, he was joined by a teenage werewolf named Alec, who helped him battle new hunters on a mission to murder every supernatural entity in Beacon Hills. It was shown at the end of the series that Scott’s gang was happy to have Alec join them. A resurrection of The Walking Dead is expected to begin following the events of last season’s finale.
But there’s still a lot we don’t know about this. How many actors and actresses from the original series will return to reprise their roles? What kind of new characters can we look forward to seeing? Is there a date fixed for the release? If you want to know everything about the upcoming film, here are the facts.
What will Teen Wolf The Movie be about?
Werecoyotes, hellhounds, and other shapeshifters converge on Beacon Hills after a horrible evil is unleashed. “Only a werewolf like Scott McCall (Posey), no longer a teenager but still an alpha, can gather both new allies and reconnect trusted comrades to fight back against what could be the most powerful and deadly opponent they’ve ever faced.”
There will be more of a time jump than fans expected in an interview with Entertainment Weekly in July 2022, according to creator Jeff Davis. Jeff believes we’ll see Scott and Derek in roles that are older than the actors who portray them, despite the fact that it’s been five years since the show’s final episode. In EW’s Comic-Con video suite, Jeff stated, “These two are returning in a huge way and we get to see them in their life later.”
“Because of the time leap, we get to witness an older Scott McCall this time around. Tyler Posey has now outlived Scott McCall in terms of age.” Additionally, Tyler remarked, “And I’ve always been older than Scott McCall.” “It’s a strange situation. It’s cool, but it’s also nice. Playing a 30-plus-year-old after spending my entire career as a teenager is a treat.” As Derek, Tyler Hoechlin revealed that he will be a parent in the future film. As a father,
“I felt it was nice to come back as a father and for his new task to not be about himself but attempting to help his son through that same process,” he said in a statement to EW.

Will any of the original cast return for the Teen Wolf revival?
Yep! Most of the original Teen Wolf cast has agreed to return, according to Variety. Holland Roden, Shelley Hennig, Crystal Reed, Orny Adams, Linden Ashby, JR Bourne, Seth Gilliam, Colton Haynes, Melissa Ponzio and Dylan Sprayberry will all reprise their roles in the upcoming series. Dylan O’Brien, Arden Cho, and Tyler Hoechlin, on the other hand, were omitted from the original roster. On MTV’s “predominately white cast”
during its six-year run, Arden reportedly stood out as being the sole Asian actor. Kira Yukimura will not reprise her role in the film in February 2022, Deadline reports, as she was reportedly offered only half the compensation of her white peers. According to Dylan O’Brien, who liked a tweet about the report, curiosity has increased.
During an exclusive interview with Variety, Dylan stated that he will not be appearing in the film. “It was a tough call. According to Dylan, “a lot of work went into it.” “The show is dear to my heart. So many people there are important to me because that was the very first thing I ever did. However, it all happened so quickly that I didn’t have time to think about it.
Because we all adore the show, we didn’t know it was going to happen and they just kind of tossed it at us. Trying to figure out what was going on.” When the 2017 series finale of his show, Stiles, aired, the actor said he was happy with how his character’s narrative concluded. He’ll still be referred to, even though Dylan won’t be returning as Stiles, showrunner Jeff Davis stated in July 2022.
In order to find out what happened to Stydia, you’ll have to watch the movie, Jeff said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. In addition, Stiles, who is not featured in the film, is omnipresent. No matter how many characters are mentioned or referenced, they all have an impact, therefore there is no way we could have done it without naming him or at least addressing him. “You’ll recognise some of the people.”
According to Cody Christian (who played Theo Raeken in seasons 5 and 6) of the original series, his character will not be returning for Teen Wolf: The Movie, which is due out in 2018. He announced it on Twitter, citing scheduling conflicts: “Although the full moon and our calendars did not coincide this time, I am curious to see what is next in the Teen Wolf universe,” he tweeted. Always be a place of refuge. My broken chimaera heart will always be with you.
In regards to Tyler Hoechlin, Deadline stated that he is “in flux” and that he will most likely return. In addition, Paramount Plus will make further cast announcements before the film’s premiere, according to the source.
