After over a year away, Shane McMahon made his WWE comeback on Sunday night at WrestleMania 39. According to Triple H, McMahon tore his quad during the competition.
McMahon arrived to a thunderous cheer for an unscheduled match against The Miz, but he soon became injured and had to leave the contest.
While things looked bleak as McMahon lay on the canvas and was checked out by doctors, Snoop Dogg stepped in and delivered a People’s Elbow that satisfied the fans:

Before Sunday, McMahon hadn’t been seen on WWE television since the 2022 Royal Rumble. He appeared as the 28th entrant in the match and lasted into the final three.
Fans already criticized his inclusion in the game, but those ill feelings were exacerbated when it was revealed that he was the lead producer of the match.
Less than a month later, it was revealed that McMahon had been quietly “let go” from WWE because he was only employed as in-ring talent and had no front-office or backstage responsibilities.
Before leaving the business, it is said that he was under consideration to take part in the Elimination Chamber match at the premium live event in February 2022.
McMahon had not competed in wrestling matches when he was not affiliated with WWE. After his father, Vince McMahon reinstituted himself as chairman in January.
He returned a few months later. The 77-year-old had resigned in July after several hush money payments to settle sexual misconduct claims came to light, but he later came back to oversee the company’s potential sale.
