The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 2: For Season 2 of The Summer I Turned Pretty, we can’t wait to pack our swimsuits and return to the charming East Coast hamlet of Cousins Beach. The young adult romance series on Prime Video is based on the Jenny Han novels of the same name.
It’s no surprise that we fell in love with the Amazon series over the summer, given that Han also penned the original stories for our favorite Netflix movie trilogy, To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before. Han was also the series creator. Despite having a very Gen Z cast, the film’s captivating coastal backdrop, terrific soundtrack (hey, T-Swift), and first-love thrills keep audiences of all ages enthralled.
They’ve always seen me as a young child, but not this summer. Season 1 chronicled the events of the first novel in the trilogy about coming-of-age characters Belly Conklin (Lola Tung), 16, as she walked Abercrombie and Fitch models Conrad (Christopher Briney) and Jeremiah during her summer vacation (Gavin Casalegno).
In contrast to the book’s plot, the mother of the boys, Susannah (Rachel Blanchard), discovered she has breast cancer and consented to participate in a clinical trial to find a cure. While Amazon Studios used the original book as inspiration for the series, they added Jeremiah’s bisexuality and allowed Belly to attend the debutante ball.
With the anticipation that Amazon will order The Summer I Turned Pretty for a third season to complete the trilogy with We’ll Always Have Summer, we may presume that Season 2 will follow the second book in the series, It’s Not Summer Without You. Whether you’re on Team Conrad or Jeremiah, the Belly, Conrad, and Jeremiah love triangle is arguably the most fantastic ongoing love tale of our time (at least until summer 2022). (or even Team Cam).

On November 8, Season 2’s filming officially ended, so we won’t have to wait long to return to the summer house! To demonstrate this, the show’s official Twitter account posted this adorable image of some of the cast. We’re interested in finding out where to purchase one of those jackets.
The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 2 Release Date
Prime Video has not yet disclosed a date for Season 2’s release. We hope that the completion of Season 2’s production signals a release in 2023 (possibly in June, like Season 1?). Season 2 will probably have seven episodes, as did the first season.
The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 2 Plot
Warning: This may include significant Season 2 spoilers. In the second book of Jenny Han’s trilogy, Susannah passes away from breast cancer, which unavoidably impacts her kids. Conrad flees his house amid the grief, and Belly and Jeremiah set out on a road trip to find him. Belly and Jeremiah grow closer throughout, and the love triangle intensifies. How closely that plot will be followed in the TV version is unknown. In Season 2, we’ll have to wait and see.
The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 2 Cast!
Most of the summer vacation house crew will be returning in Season 2, including the Conklins — Belly (Tung), her mother Laurel (Jackie Chung), and brother Steven (Sean Kaufman) — as well as Conrad (Briney) and Jeremiah (Casalegno). Belly’s friends Taylor (Rain Spencer) and Cam (David Iacono) are also set to return.
On Aug. 31, Amazon announced two new cast members: Kyra Sedgwick and Elsie Fisher will join Season 2 in recurring roles.
