World On Fire Season 2: Prepare to return to Europe in the 1940s in World On Fire season 2, as BBC One has announced that production has started on the sequel to 2019’s epic war drama.
With Sean Bean, Lesley Manville, and a host of other talented British and European actors, the first season chronicled the events of the first year of the war, including the Nazi invasion of Poland and the British evacuation from Dunkirk.
The play received accolades for telling the unsung tales of ordinary people from all around Europe while highlighting concerns on the home front, such as those who opposed the war.
Many of those stories will continue in a second six-part series produced and written by Peter Bowker, Rachel Bennette, and Matt Jones. Here is what we currently know.

Reads a BBC statement:
1940 October. As the Northern Blitz gets underway, lone pilots are dispatched to shoot down German bombers that are circling above Manchester. In Britain, the terrible reality of war has descended.
The second season of World On Fire will transport viewers from the streets of Britain to Nazi Germany, occupied France, and the North African desert, where British soldiers battle alongside Indian Sappers and Australian Diggers to adjust to a new form of combat.
Fans are eager to learn what happened to Harry and Kasia since the first season concluded with them narrowly escaping a Nazi ambush in Poland and being pursued by Nazi soldiers. In the meantime, Lois gave birth to Harry’s child and accepted RAF fighter pilot Vernon Hunter’s proposal.
