The eagerly awaited live reunion on Netflix After technical difficulties kept excited viewers waiting, the season 4 cast of the reality dating show “Love is Blind” was postponed for Sunday.
Ultimately, Netflix decided to record the program for streaming, declaring it would be accessible everywhere on Monday at 3 p.m. ET.
“To everyone who stayed up late, woke up early, gave up their Sunday afternoon… we are incredibly sorry that the Love is Blind Live Reunion did not turn out as we had planned,” Netflix tweeted. “We’re filming it now and we’ll have it on Netflix as soon as humanly possible. Again, thank you and sorry.”
At 8 p.m. ET on Sunday, the second live performance in Netflix’s history was scheduled to begin. Several minutes after the event began, Netflix tweeted: “Love is … late. #LoveIsBlindLIVE will be on in 15 minutes!”
A few minutes later, the streaming service promised the show “will be worth the wait….” When Netflix subscribers tried to access the stream, they were met with a screen that said, “It’s almost time! The live event will start soon.”
Like many streaming rivals, the firm isn’t used to broadcasting live events. On March 4, Netflix streamed “Chris Rock: Selective Outrage,” a standup special by the comedian, which was the only live performance to air on the service. That streamed flawlessly.
