At Solitude Mountain Resort, a skier who went missing on Monday was discovered dead early on Tuesday.
According to Fox 13 News, police said Cottonwood Heights resident Devon O’Connell, 37, was discovered at 8:20 a.m. close to the Sensation run. The intermediate route, which connects to the Last Chance Lodge, is situated on the mountain’s lower slopes close to the Sunrise lift.
Around 6:30 p.m. on Monday, the skier failed to meet with other skiers, and the Solitude Mountain Resort ski patrol was informed of his disappearance. The skier was anticipated to return by 2:00 p.m., according to the Unified Police Department. When the ski patrol received the call, his automobile was still in the parking lot.

According to the UPD, search and rescue operations continued until 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday before picking back up at 7:15 a.m. The resort, which doesn’t open until eight in the morning, closed its Apex, Summit, and Sunrise lifts until the skier was located. Around 10 a.m., those lifts were once again in operation.
The resort was covered in snow both before and during the search. The storm that started on Sunday evening and lasted until Monday reported 16 inches of snowfall in Solitude. According to the forecasting website OpenSnow.com, it received 10 inches on Tuesday.
By a news release from Solitude, the skier was donning a helmet.
It was Solitude’s second demise in a given year. A 38-year-old Intermountain Healthcare transplant surgeon perished in February after plunging from a 100-foot cliff while skiing at the resort.
