2 Children, 6 and 9 Years Old Shot: A 6-year-old and a 9-year-old were shot as they exited a Metrobus in the northwest Washington, D.C. community of Brightwood on their way home from school on Wednesday afternoon, according to Metro Transit Police.
Both kids are conscious and breathing; a Metropolitan Police Department spokesperson informed 7News.
At 14th Street NW and Fort Stevens Drive, there was a shooting.
The youngsters and an adult male who was also shot were sent to a local hospital and are expected to make a full recovery, according to MTPD.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, an altercation broke out when numerous persons boarded the bus and began to assault a passenger physically.
When the altercation spilled into the street, one guy opened fire, hitting two kids and an adult. According to MPD, the shooting’s intended target was not hit.
Police said that the kids got back on the bus during the disturbance, and the Metro driver continued to Sheridan Street, a few streets away.
“All of my concern is with a 6-year-old and a 9-year-old and all they were doing was coming home from school,” D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser said. “And an idiot with a gunshot it, indiscriminately, and shot two children.”
Jacquie Morrison, a native of Washington, D.C., said she couldn’t just pass by the scene.
“It has been worse. People are behaving out because they’re suffering, sad, and exhausted, “She spoke.
This location is close to Georgia Avenue NW, where on January 3, a man was killed, and three people, including an eight-year-old child, were injured.
“You will always hear me talk about accountability when it comes to people who commit reckless acts in our community,” MPD Chief Robert Contee said. “This is unacceptable.”
Morrison maintained that the terms still fall short.
“Without intending to offend the police head, it appeared to be a moving script. How many times have those speeches been precisely the same? It nearly seems like a card where you could cut it out. Nothing will change until you address the hearts and morals of people, of grownups, “She spoke.
Along with the others who boarded the bus and abused a passenger, police are currently looking for a male gunshot suspect.
