In the movie Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol, Cruise performed one of his most well-known stunts by scaling the side of a skyscraper. Nevertheless, not just any structure! He climbed the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, the tallest structure in the world.
Tom Hunt, played by Cruise, had to ascend to the 130th level of the 2,722-foot skyscraper wearing special suction gloves before rappelling down and finishing with a massive leap of faith.
Director Brad Bird told the New York Daily News that during one of the first filming days, “I bolted up in bed thinking that we had our star dangling almost a mile up in the air on a thin wire, and my brain was screaming, ‘What the hell are we doing?'”
