According to authorities, six individuals were slain in a string of shootings on Friday in northwest Mississippi. The sheriff’s office in Tate County, Mississippi, informed CBS News that a suspect was taken into custody.
In a Facebook post, the sheriff’s office stated that the gunshots occurred in three locations in Arkabutla, Mississippi.
Although the victims were unidentified by authorities, it was revealed on “CBS Mornings” that one of them was the suspect’s ex-wife. His stepfather was another.
The sheriff’s office stated, “We are in the very early stages of the investigation. Therefore, we can only share a limited amount of information.”
The 52-year-old Arkabulta resident named Richard Dale Crum was charged with first-degree murder, according to the sheriff’s office. The defendant was detained without a bond and would be charged again.

The sheriff claimed a guy was shot in the store, and five others were shot at homes in the small village. During a pursuit, the suspect was apprehended, and the sheriff informed the station.
Tate Reeves, the governor of Mississippi, sent a statement on Facebook that read, “At this moment, we think he acted alone.” His motivation is still unknown.
The 19-year-old Ethan Cash reported hearing gunshots from inside his house and saw a man outside with a shotgun. Cash eventually stepped out to observe the situation.
When a man was shot at a vehicle, Cash stated, “I go over to the truck, and I check his pulse and everything, just to make sure he’s OK.” By this point, he has already left.
