Why Won’t There Be A Sixth Season Of Merlin?
According to showrunners Johnny Capps and Julian Murphy, the fifth season of Merlin was the show’s last. “This is the series where the plots come to a head.
According to the producers, the struggle for Camelot is brought to a close in a magnificent finale that draws from the most well-known components of this beloved story.
“We always felt the story of the legend was best portrayed throughout five episodes,” they said in a joint statement.
“We want to thank the fantastic cast and crew for their hard work and professionalism, as well as the BBC, FME, and all of our partners worldwide for their unwavering support and encouragement throughout the last five seasons.
“But mostly, our gratitude is extended to Merlin’s extraordinary and devoted global audience for their love for the Camelot universe and its characters.”
Danny Cohen from the BBC added: “Merlin’s blend of magic, adventure, and humor rapidly became popular with BBC One audiences and has continued to thrill families over the last five years on Saturday nights.
I respect the choice to conclude Merlin on a solid note, but I also realize that its absence from the BBC One schedule will be felt.
“I would like to thank Shine and all those involved in making the show, both on and off screen, on behalf of BBC One.
We had big plans for new drama in the Saturday evening slot in 2013, so I hope viewers will tune in over the upcoming weeks to watch the incredibly emotional final episodes.
Series, The actress Colin Morgan appreciated the viewers and the program. The show, she said, “has run its natural course.
This was always going to be a five-year journey that we went on. The exhibition has developed year after year, and we have reached its pinnacle and accomplished our goals.
