Is Prince Charles Sick? The heir to the British throne has now contracted COVID-19 a second time, according to a statement from his office on Thursday.

Charles, 73, was “sorrowful” he could no longer attend a ceremony in Winchester, southwest England, to commemorate the 70th anniversary of his mother Queen Elizabeth’s coronation, according to his office, Clarence House.

It posted a message on Twitter that read, “The Prince of Wales has tested positive for COVID-19 and is currently self-isolating.”

After testing negative, Camilla, Prince Charles’ wife, continued her activities in London on Thursday!

The prince spoke with guests at a reception for the British Asian Trust on Wednesday, including British finance minister Rishi Sunak and interior minister Priti Patel, as seen in photos.

Charles had tested positive for the virus in March 2020, when he claimed he had been “fortunate” to have just experienced moderate symptoms. Charles claimed in December that he and Camilla had received their COVID-19 vaccine booster doses.

In 2020, Prince William, his son, also developed COVID-19 shortly after his father.

Camilla expressed her gratitude to Elizabeth for officially expressing her intention for her to succeed her as Queen Consort when Charles becomes king at her engagements on Thursday, calling it an honor and a “really kind” gesture.

After Charles’ first marriage to the late Princess Diana ended and after she passed away in 1997, Camilla, his second wife, was demonized by the tabloid press.

In recent years, the media has shown considerably more sensitivity. A poll conducted on Wednesday for the Daily Mail revealed that 55% of the British public now supported her becoming Queen Consort, compared to 28% who were opposed.

Other polls have revealed that many people are still opposed to her assuming the title, with a YouGov survey from November saying that only 14% agreed with this.
