Jason Sudeikis and Olivia Wilde are putting their conflict behind them. The ex-couple, who called off their engagement in 2020, was spotted hugging it out in Los Angeles on Friday. The two have been at odds for the past two years throughout her publicized relationship with Harry Styles, so the friendly hug is a striking change. Styles and the Don’t Worry Darling director divorced in November.
According to a source who spoke to Yahoo Entertainment, Wilde, 38, and Sudeikis, 47, are “amicably” co-parenting their two children, Otis, 8, and Daisy, 6.
“Olivia and Jason just want what’s best for the kids,” the insider explains, confirming tension between the two has eased in recent months. “Their children will always be their priority.”
Due to the private nature of both Sudeikis and Wilde, it was rare for their problems to become public last year. Wilde received infamous papers while giving a presentation at CinemaCon in April.
Without mentioning her ex-fiance, Wilde said to Variety, “It was my workplace.” “It would be considered an assault in any other place of employment. It was incredibly upsetting. That shouldn’t have been possible.” Due to the event’s safety procedures, Wilde said, the “vicious” attack “needed foresight”; nonetheless, Sudeikis denied any control over how it was handled.

“I did not want service to take place at the home of Olivia’s current partner because Otis and Daisy might be present,” he said in last year’s court filing, referencing Styles. The two disagreed over custody and where to raise their children.
“I understand that the process server had only done her job; however, I deeply regret what happened. Olivia’s talk was an important event for Olivia, both professionally and personally, and I am very, very sorry that the incident marred her special moment,” he added.
Wilde refuted allegations that she left Sudeikis for Styles while promoting Don’t Worry Darling by labeling them “total horses***.” However, just as the insane publicity tour for Wilde’s movie ended, their former nanny put the actors back in the limelight. The woman worked when Wilde and Styles’ relationship started and spoke extensively to newspapers about that period.
In their first display of cooperation in two years, Wilde and Sudeikis released a joint statement to refute some of the nanny’s allegations to The Daily Mail.
“As parents, it is incredibly upsetting to learn that a former nanny of our two young children would choose to publicly make such false and scurrilous accusations about us,” they said. “Her 18-month-long campaign of harassing us, as well as loved ones, close friends, and colleagues, has reached its unfortunate apex. We will continue to focus on raising and protecting our children with the sincere hope that she will now choose to leave our family alone.”
Styles and Wilde’s separation was publicly announced in November, and while media sources initially described it as “taking a break,” it now appears to be more long-term. Although it’s unknown where Sudeikis and Wilde stand in their custody negotiations, their public embrace certainly looks like a good indication.
