Aquaman 2 Release Date: Everything You Need to Know About Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom

Despite James Gunn’s declaration that the DCEU is over, Aquaman 2 will likely serve as DC fans’ final look at the shared cinematic universe thanks to Jason Momoa’s performance. The plot appears to start up where the original Aquaman film left off, but as far as we can tell, the Amber Heard–Johnny Depp scandal has had a major impact on the cast of Aquaman 2.

Despite this, anticipation for this film has been building for quite some time, and it is almost here. We don’t want you to miss out on anything, especially since there are such high expectations for Aquaman 2. In light of that, let’s learn everything we can about Aquaman 2 in this article.

Aquaman 2 Release Date

To cut a long tale short, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will premiere in theaters across the United States and the United Kingdom on December 20, 2023.

The planned release date was December 16, 2022, however, it was pushed back to March 17, 2023, so that the visual effects could be completed. Warner Bros. Discovery later rescheduled it to its present date in order to disperse 2023 advertising expenses.

The original shooting schedule for the sequel ran from June 2021 to January 2022, with July 2022 devoted to reshoots. That bodes well for making the December 2023 deadline.

Aquaman: Lost Kingdom Trailer

We’ve waited almost as long for this trailer as Arthur did to see his mother Atlanna again, but the time has finally come.

On September 14, Warner Bros. unveiled the first teaser trailer for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. In case you missed it up top, here it is again:

Who is in Aquaman 2’s Cast

On September 11, 2023, DC Studios released a teaser trailer for Aquaman 2 via YouTube. All of the actors in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom are listed in the synopsis of that trailer:

All returning to the roles they originated, Jason Momoa plays Arthur Curry/Aquaman, now balancing his duties as both the King of Atlantis and a new father; Patrick Wilson is Orm, Aquaman’s half-brother and his nemesis, who must now step into a new role as his brother’s reluctant ally; Amber Heard is Mera, Atlantis’ Queen and mother of the heir to the throne; Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is Black Manta, committed more than ever to avenge his father’s death by destroying Aquaman, his family and Atlantis; and Nicole Kidman as Atlanna, a fierce leader and mother with the heart of a warrior. Also reprising their roles are Dolph Lundgren as King Nereus and Randall Park as Dr. Stephen Shin.

Yes, I’m aware that Amber Heard is still in it, but her reported 8 minutes of screen time is a significant cut.
