Asus Unveils New ROG Zephyrus Gaming Laptops At CES 2023: Some of our favorite gaming laptops on the market, the Asus ROG Zephyrus range, are getting their yearly makeover. Over the past few years, this sleek machine has undergone many revisions, which breathed new life into the lightweight, fun, and very portable lineup. Now that 2023 is here, Asus is raising the bar for some of the greatest gaming laptops.
This year, four brand-new laptops are on display, each boasting the newest hardware from AMD, Intel, and Nvidia and improved thermal designs. The addition of the crystal clear mini-LED Nebula HDR display, which works to keep all those colors bright and vibrant while maintaining the deepest of blacks simultaneously, maybe the line’s most significant change in 2023. Even most miniature G14 models now use this technology, which was previously limited to the full Strix range.
The G14 is no longer a team red exclusive, there is a decent balance between AMD and Intel here, and there are Nvidia RTX 40-Series GPUs available across the range. The following generation won’t be far after because every device is set to ship in Q1.
Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 2023
Starting with the most well-liked model. One of the best gaming laptops to date, the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 from last year, is improving even further with this year’s model. After a brief venture into a complete team red machine, we’re back to an AMD / Nvidia split this year, with the former’s Ryzen 9 7940HS processor and a powerful Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 GPU topping the configuration table. For a 14-inch screen, that is a significant weight, especially 18.5mm thick.
The Nebula display, a first-time HDR QHD Mini LED panel for the G14, is where the real power resides. With those tiny LEDs allowing independent dimming and brightness up to 600nits, Asus claims that the color gamut on this display is 100% DCI-P3. As stated by Asus, “If HDR isn’t a requirement, gamers can opt for models with the classic AniMe Matrix screen.” We will again have the option of a dot matrix LED display on the lid or a superior internal below.

Asus ROG Zephyrus G16
There is a brand-new kid in town. At CES 2023, the Asus ROG Zephyrus G16 made its debut, expanding the range into a 16-inch form factor previously occupied only by the M-models. The G16 maintains the G14’s sleek design while providing the screen space of a larger model.
It does this by running the same ROG Nebula screen at an astonishing 240Hz right out of the box. Here, you’ll move to Intel, although configurations can go as high as an i9-13900H with a boost for up to 48GB of RAM. These versions strangely top out at RTX 4070 GPUs, but maintaining that form factor isn’t simple.

Asus ROG Zephyrus M16 (2023)
Therefore, Asus has entirely reinvented the M16 device with the new G16 on the market. The most recent version expands on the all-encompassing philosophy of the first one by modifying the chassis to support a full-width heatsink and effective Tri-Fan cooling. The most potent model’s Intel i9-13900H processor and RTX 4090 GPU make it clear why this setup needed to be rebuilt.
Not only that, but the M16 also includes an enhanced Nebula HDR display with 1,100 nits of maximum brightness, a 240 Hz refresh rate, and 1,024 dimming zones. Along with all of that, the AniMe Matrix LED display on the front lid is the newest member of the M-Series family.

Asus ROG Zephyrus Duo 16 (2023)
Don’t worry about the Duo, the Zephyrus’ far more opulent twin. The dual-screen 16-inch computer will use AMD’s newest Ryzen Zen 4 CPUs to raise the bar for gaming and productivity, particularly with the Precision Boost Overdrive overclocking technique.
The Duo looks as impressive as ever when Nvidia’s RTX 4090 CPUs and tons of storage are added. The ROG Zephyrus Duo, which won the CES Innovation Award the previous year, is still adjusting to life in the mainstream. Still, this year’s model aims directly at anyone willing to spend money on a productivity and gaming powerhouse.
