Ben Affleck, the upcoming superhero Justice League star, recently discussed his cameo as Bruce Wayne/Batman in DC Studios’ The Flash.
At the premiere of The Flash, Affleck said that he had the “most fun I [he] had playing” the Dark Knight while making the movie and that he had a “wonderful time” doing it.
The actor told The MovieReport.com that working with director Andy Muschietti and co-star Ezra Miller greatly influenced his decision to return to the DC Universe. “It wasn’t a lot of work,” he said. “It was really a cameo you know, and I didn’t expect or anticipate to do this, but you know I love Andy, and I really was excited. I had such a great experience with Ezra. I really was thrilled to come back and do it.”

Affleck said that the premise and tone of The Flash made the film more pleasant for him. He said it was possible when asked if his final cameo as Batman was too brief. “I loved the movie and it’s really fun,” he gushed. “It has a really good spirit of, kind of balance which is the tone is a difficult thing with these movies like trying to figure out how serious, how dark, how funny, how engaging it is. People have done it really well, and have really struck a balance with that tone, and I feel like Andy really did that with this movie. It was a lot of fun, I really had a great time. It was over too soon.”
Ben Affleck’s DC Universe Journey
In Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, released in 2016, the acclaimed actor-filmmaker debuted as the eighth live-action iteration of The Dark Knight.
After that, he was in the Justice League films directed by Snyder, Whedon, and Ayer’s Suicide Squad. At one point, he was also in talks to helm a stand-alone Batman film. Robert Pattinson was cast as Batman in Matt Reeves’ The Batman after Ben Affleck dropped out of the lead role and directing responsibilities.
In an earlier interview, Affleck revealed his original plans for the Batman film that ultimately didn’t happen, including his desire to flesh out Joe Manganiello’s Deathstroke character.
I dabbled in a few of them, you could say. He remarked that that persona, in particular, would be interesting, subtle, and sophisticated.
Miller and Affleck aren’t the only familiar faces coming back for The Flash movie; Kiersey Clemons will reprise her role as Iris West, Michael Shannon will reprise his role as General Zod, Jeremy Irons will reprise his role as Alfred Pennyworth, and Michael Keaton will reprise his role as Batman/Bruce Wayne. As Kara Zor-El/Supergirl, Sasha Calle will make her big screen debut in the much-anticipated superhero film.
