Billy Miller, a popular actor on daytime television, committed suicide, his distraught mother disclosed. He battled his bipolar depression for a very long time. Patricia Miller said in a statement to Soap Opera Digest on Monday, “He did everything he could to control the disease.”
“He loved his family, his friends and his fans, but in the end, the disease won the fight, and he surrendered his life.” The distraught mother claimed that “other causes of death being told are not true,” however she did not elaborate.
“We all loved him so much and are desperately trying to deal with our loss,” she concluded. “I will have nothing further to say. Thanks for the love and support.” Famed for his work on “The Young and the Restless,” “General Hospital,” and “Suits,” Billy passed away on Friday in Austin, Texas. He was 43.
In 2007, he won his first major TV role as Richie Novak on “All My Children,” and since then he has gone on to win three Emmy Awards. A year after he landed the role, he began filming episodes as Billy Abbott on “The Young and the Restless.“
After that, Billy got regular parts on “General Hospital,” where he stayed for five years and played Drew Cain and Jason Morgan. He also appeared in “Ray Donovan,” “Truth Be Told,” “NCIS,” “The Rookie,” and “American Sniper,” which was nominated for an Academy Award in 2015.
Their mother Patricia, sister Megan, brother-in-law Ronnie, nephew Grayson, and niece Charley are among Billy’s surviving relatives. He also leaves behind “a great many friends and colleagues who will miss his warm personality, generous spirit and genuine kindness,” his management said.
