Dwayne Wades Ex Wife: Dwyane Wade and his ex-wife Siohvaughn Funches have settled the financial aspects of their divorce after a protracted and contentious legal battle.
According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, Wade and Funches reached a final agreement Monday over the financial details of their divorce, which the Miami Heat star’s lawyer called “extremely kind.”
This payment comes four days after Funches displayed a sign that said, “NBA Miami Heat Star, Mother of His Children on the Streets,” in front of Chicago’s Daley Center.
Wade and Funches have a new contract for a $5 million lump sum payment and a non-disparagement pact. Along with the information on the agreement, Wade’s lawyer James B. Pritikin also harshly appraised Funches’ most recent public protest.
Because his mother experienced homelessness briefly when he was a child, Ms. Funches has made light of a profound and personal matter for Mr. Wade.
The Huffington Post claims Dwyane Wade’s ex-wife expressed her displeasure with the direction the legal processes were taking and the division of financial assets to reporters and bystanders during her protest.
The temporary arrangement that Wade and Funches had before this new agreement required the Heat guard to pay $25,000 per month in spousal support and an additional $10,000 per month for travel and expenditures.
The former couple’s new settlement comes six years after Wade filed for divorce in 2007, and their journey to this point has not been easy.
Funches has harassed the NBA player with litigation since their initial breakup, stating that he failed to provide her with the endorsement money to which she is entitled. Wade obtained custody of their two boys, Zion and Zaire, in 2011 after a protracted legal struggle.
When Funches failed to return the boys to their father during the allotted visitation hours, she was detained and charged with misdemeanor attempted child abduction in 2012.
