American actor and producer Eric Nelsen was born on June 26, 1991, and has won both a Tony Award and an Emmy. He is well-known for his performance in the TV show 1883. Nelsen performed on stage in The Good Mother and the original Broadway production of 13 as Brett Sampson (produced by The New Group).
He has appeared in over 30 television shows, including All My Children on Hulu, The Affair on Showtime, The Blacklist, Girls, The Following, NCIS, Blue Bloods, and iCarly. The Robert M. Beren Professor of Government at Harvard University is Eric Nelson. For the Clarendon Edition of Thomas Hobbes’ Works, he also edited the translations of the Iliad and Odyssey by Hobbes (The Clarendon Press, Oxford, 2008). His works have been published in various academic journals and edited books. Nelson obtained both his Ph.D. and his AB summa cum laude degrees from The University of Cambridge in 1999. (2002).
The American Council of Learned Societies and the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation have given him fellowships. In addition, he has held positions as a British Marshall Scholar, a Fellow of Trinity College, Cambridge, and a Junior Fellow in the Harvard Society of Fellows.
For his performance on The Bay’s Amazon web series, Nelsen received a Daytime Emmy Award in 2018 for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Digital Daytime Drama Series. Nelsen has earned a Tony Award for the Broadway play The Inheritance and three Daytime Emmy Awards for his production of The Bay. Additionally, he worked on the independent film Wakefield, which starred Bryan Cranston and Jennifer Garner. Nelsen won his first Emmy Award as a producer at the early age of 23, making history.
