After her previous two marriages ended in divorce, Eva Longoria might have given up, but the 47-year-old actress succeeded on her third attempt. She doesn’t regret any of her wedding decisions, though, since they all helped to prepare her for her happy marriage to José Bastón.
She acknowledged that her previous two marriages were plagued by “jealousy” in a recent episode of her podcast Connections with Eva Longoria with author Isabel Allende. Longoria shared, “I remember being so jealous, and your stomach is inside out. It’s the worst feeling. Why would anybody want that feeling?” She was wed to former NBA player Tony Parker from 2007 to 2011 and soap opera actor Tyler Christopher from 2002 to 2004. A mutual acquaintance suggested she go to dinner with her now-husband after they took a break from dating.
When they started dating, she understood that she needed to shift her perspective on being in a committed relationship. “I think that’s why, with my second marriage — no wait, my third — finding love at 40, I found [my husband] when I was 40 – and he was 50 – it was just like, ‘Can we just enjoy this life together?’” Longoria said. “I mean, I do yell at him for [leaving out] the toothbrush or something like that, still.”

Longoria has made her life much happier by being present in her marriage and savoring the little moments with their 4-year-old son Santiago. Despite their connection developing later in life, she and Bastón feel they’ve been together forever. “Some days we feel like we’ve been married for 40 years, and other days we feel like we’ve been married for two seconds – just depends on the day,” she told Entertainment Tonight in 2017. “We’re priorities for each other, so it’s pretty easy.”
