Gemma Owen Split: Luca Bish has spoken out about his breakup with Gemma Owen. He told followers that it was a “shared decision” and that he wished her the best.
On the most recent season of Love Island, Brighton fishmonger Luca Bish and Gemma Owen, 19, the son of football legend Michael Owen, weren’t initially paired up. However, they quickly became romantically involved after he confessed his feelings for her on the roof terrace after their first week in the villa.
Love Island viewers complained that Luca Bish’s behavior was raising “major red flags,” prompting Gemma to stop their relationship and move on. The couple’s time on the ITV dating program wasn’t without setbacks. Nevertheless, despite their issues, Luca and Gemma persisted in their relationship. They made it to the final, coming in second place to Davide and Ekin-Su, despite not being “official” by the time the series came to a close.
When Luca orchestrated a very romantic evening to propose to Gemma Owen, and the two of them have since shared several images of themselves on their Instagram profiles over the past several months, things gradually blossomed outside of the villa into a full-fledged romance.
Less than four months have passed since the Love Island conclusion, but Luca and Gemma Owen split up. Gemma initially made the statement, but late on Wednesday night, Luca Bish shared his side of the tale on Instagram, saying, “Switched my phone back on after taking some time away to clear my head after an emotional afternoon to thousands of messages regarding my breakup.”
Gemma Owen and I decided to part ways earlier today. As you all know, I’m sorry. “We have traveled on such a journey together and have created some incredible memories. We will always be dear friends, and I only have the best wishes for her.”
