George Thorogood Battle With Illness: Musician Cancels Shows Due To Serious Medical Condition!

After receiving a dire medical diagnosis, George Thorogood postponed his planned performances with the Destroyers.

The Bad All Over the World – 50 Years of Rock, the iconic musician’s album released in December, will commemorate the 50th anniversary of his tour with the Destroyers.

For what it’s worth, the musician performed with the support band for the first time on December 1, 1973.

After doing fewer than 10 performances this year, Thorogood’s health has forced him to postpone his tour.

George Thorogood Has Been Promoting a Healthy Lifestyle

In honor of his late wife Marla, who died from ovarian cancer in 2019, Thorogood famously started the Marla Thorogood Memorial Fund for Ovarian Cancer Research before his recent health issue.

Talking to Dr. Nancy Berk in 2020, the “Bad to the Bone” hitmaker shared why it is essential to take charge of one’s health and why reminding loved ones to do it, as well, is critical.

“I am dedicated to supporting ovarian cancer awareness, education and research that will lead to providing screenings and educating more women about this disease,” he said. “It is important for women to get annual exams and take charge of their health. My daughter and I want to do what we can to save lives.”
