American football outside linebacker Jessie Nathaniel Lemonier. His birth date was January 31, 1997, and his death date was January 26, 2023. Lemonier’s professional football career included stops with the Los Angeles Chargers and Detroit Lions of the NFL, as well as the Birmingham Stallions of the USFL.
In 2020, Lemonier was an undrafted free agent who signed with the Los Angeles Chargers of the National Football League. On September 5, 2020, he was one of the players cut at the team’s final roster cuts before being re-signed the following day to the practice squad. Later in the season, he was added to the active squad, although he was repeatedly released and re-signed. The Chargers released him in 2021, and the Detroit Lions signed him to their practice squad.
He was added to the roster but released once more in May of 2022. The Arizona Cardinals claimed Lemonier off waivers on May 17, 2022; they waived him on August 17. He was picked up by the Arlington Renegades in the 2023 XFL Draft but wound up playing for the USFL’s Houston Gamblers instead. The Birmingham Stallions acquired his playing rights in a subsequent trade.

The family, friends, and professional team of Jessie Lemonier have not commented on the cause of his death. Social media users speculate that his death was caused by the Covid-19 vaccination, however there is no evidence to support this. A tweet has also been cited as a possible cause of his death, however this has not been confirmed.

In 2020, Jessie Lemonier entered the league as a free agent who had gone undrafted. After signing with the Los Angeles Chargers, he saw action in six games, making two tackles. In 2021, he joined the Detroit Lions’ practice squad after being waived by the Chargers.
He had 15 tackles and 1.5 sacks in seven games after being activated to the active roster for the Lions. In a highlight play, he also sacked Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. In 2022, the Lions released him and he was claimed by the Arizona Cardinals. He had a sack in his lone preseason game for the Cardinals before being waived.
He was selected by the Arlington Renegades in the 2023 XFL Draft, but he ultimately decided to play for the USFL’s Houston Gamblers. Birmingham Stallions acquired his playing rights straight away. Unfortunately, he passed away on January 26, 2023, at the young age of 25 and never got to play for them.
