Jordan Blake, the founding frontman of the post-hardcore band A Skylit Drive, has passed away. The band confirmed the information in a social media post.
One of the early pioneers of the screaming and high-pitched clean vocals taken by the post-hardcore music business was Jordan Blake, who was well-known for this.
Due to health-related issues, Blake departed the band during a tour in November 2007 since he could not continue traveling. Jonny Craig of Dance Gavin Dance served as the band’s temporary replacement and took part in the recording of a demo of “Knights of the Round.”
Craig Mabbitt, formerly of Blessthefall, later took Craig’s place, and Michael “Jag” Jagmin was then added to complete the roster. Later, in 2013, Jordan Blake founded Speak of the Devil.
The band’s original lineup from 2006 announced their reunion on January 23, 2022, to mark the 15th anniversary of their debut EP She Watched the Sky. The reconstituted group secured performances at Swanfest 2022 and So What?! Festivals.
In addition to being known as the band’s lead singer, the frontman of A Skylit Drive also donated his vocal abilities to Ann Arbor, Trances, and Watchout! Along with Speak of the Devil, there are also Ghosts.
He grew up with a brother and sister after moving to Lodi, California, on June 20, 1986.
