Kansas City Chiefs Injury Report: Week 5’s matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Las Vegas Raiders will occur at Arrowhead Stadium on Monday night. Although the hosts are atop the AFC West standings, they are also concerned about a few injuries going into the encounter.
Harrison Butker, the Raiders’ opponent’s placekicker, will not play. Butker’s ankle sprain from a kickoff in Week 1 still bothers him. As the primary kicker, Matthew Wright is anticipated to step in.
Three more Kansas City players are also labeled as questionable for Week 5. Trey Smith, a guard, has been practicing with limited intensity this week due to a pectoral issue.
JuJu Smith-hamstring Schuster’s “tightened up,” according to Chiefs head coach Andy Reid. The receiver was consequently demoted to a limited practice on Saturday. Smith-Schuster has accumulated 224 receiving yards on 19 receptions this season, but it is unclear if he will play against the Raiders.
Defensive end Mike Danna, meanwhile, was also limited to weekday practice due to a calf issue. A decision on Danna’s participation in Week 5 will depend on his physical condition. Danna has missed the team’s last two games.
Patrick Mahomes, the Chiefs’ standout quarterback, will start on Monday night despite some questions surrounding a few of their teammates. The four-time Pro Bowler finished this season with 1,106 throwing yards and 11 touchdowns.
