Kathleen Elizabeth Avanzino was born on March 13, 1959, to Laurance K. and Kathleen Mary Avanzino. In addition to having Irish and Scottish ancestry, Kathy’s paternal grandfather was of Italian descent. After her parent’s divorce, Hilton’s mother wed Kenneth E. Richards, who was already the father of three adult children from a prior union.
Kim and Kyle Richards, both actors, are Kathy’s half-sisters. As a result of her father’s second marriage, Hilton also has five paternal half-siblings. Michael Jackson and Kathy became great friends while attending a private high school in Los Angeles. The two stayed close until Michael Jackson’s passing in 2009.
Before Kathy ever met her future husband, Hilton Hotels heir Richard Hilton, her profession started when she was a young child.
