Milledgeville Car Accident: It’s EATONTON, GA — On Sunday night, a 26-year-old woman from Milledgeville was murdered instantaneously when her automobile careened off the road, struck a power pole, and then a tree in nearby Putnam County.
The Putnam County sheriff’s deputy’s chief deputy, Russell Blank, has confirmed that the victim was a woman named Donna Hope Cheshire. According to Blank, Cheshire, a hairdresser at a salon in Milledgeville, was driving north on Spring Road at 8:30 p.m. when she crashed her 2013 Infiniti G37.
Blank stated that the woman’s automobile clipped a utility pole and slammed into a pine tree on the driver’s side after she crossed the centerline of the roadway, overcorrected, and proceeded back onto the northbound lane. Not wearing a safety belt contributed to Cheshire’s tragic demise.
Putnam County Fire Rescue and Putnam County Emergency Medical Services dispatched their firefighters and first responders to the location. According to Blenk, the fire department used specialist tools to remove the victim from the vehicle.
Blenk explained that the victim had just left her father’s house and was returning to Milledgeville when the incident occurred. Deputy Hollie Collins looked into the deadly crash in Putnam County, the first of the year. Justin Brock, a deputy sergeant, helped her out.
