According to state officials, the missing hiker was discovered dead three days after departing alone on a mountain in New Hampshire.
According to a statement from the New Hampshire Fish and Game Law Enforcement Division, Emily Sotelo’s body was discovered on the northwest side of Mount Lafayette around 11:15 a.m.
The search for Emily Sotelo, who vanished after going out for a solo trip on Sunday, was at times complicated by strong winds, chilly temperatures, and blowing snow, according to the agency.
According to the department, ground crews were directed to the area where she was discovered on Wednesday after discovering her tracks and personal belongings in the headwaters of Lafayette Brook.
According to the state’s fish and game department, the New Hampshire National Guard and several search and rescue organizations assisted in the search for Emily Sotelo.
The mountain known as Mount Lafayette rises to a height of about 5,200 feet northwest of the state, close to the community of Franconia.
