NCIS Season 20 Spoilers: Fans’ reactions to the NCIS season 19 finale ranged widely: What will happen to Parker, played by Gary Cole? Is Gibbs (Mark Harmon) stepping in to save the day? Are Palmer (Brian Dietzen) and Knight (Katrina Law) really who they say they are?
The good news is that NCIS will return with season 20, and we have all the essential information on what to look forward to.
When Will NCIS Return For Season 20 On CBS?
On Monday, September 19 at 9 p.m. ET on CBS, NCIS season 20 will debut. At midnight ET, NCIS: Hawai’i will then air.
CBS renewed the entire NCIS franchise, including the flagship show, for new seasons in March. CBS quickly decided that the Washington, D.C.-based drama would return for an unprecedented 20th season, even though significant TV networks typically don’t make such decisions until May.
Sean Murray, who plays Special Agent McGee, shared the good news on his Instagram. “Here we go again, baby… Along with a promotional image, he added, “#ncis #season20.”

Who Will Play The Characters In NCIS Season 20?
Currently, we’re making the following predictions for NCIS season 20:
- Sean Murray as Timothy McGee
- Wilmer Valderrama as Nick Torres
- Katrina Law as Jessica Knight
- Gary Cole as Alden Parker
- Brian Dietzen as Dr. Jimmy Palmer
- Diona Reasonover as Kasie Hines
- Rocky Carroll as Leon Vance
- David McCallum as Dr. Donald Mallard
After the devastating season 19 conclusion, as NCIS viewers may have already deduced, there is still more to see of Parker’s ex-wife Vivian Kolchak. According to Deadline, actress Teri Polo will play a recurring role in NCIS season 20. This would imply that the most current Parker storyline won’t be resolved in the premiere.
Parker and Vivian ran into hiding during the final few seconds of the finale episode, but not before she sent a questionable text. On her phone, she saw the message, “How’s it going? It’s finished. I’ve got him,” she replied. Many NCIS supporters quickly began to speculate on Twitter that Vivian had set Parker up. What, though? We are unsure.

Even though Gibbs might not appear in the forthcoming NCIS season 20 crossover episode, his influence could still be felt.
So what exactly are we discussing here? According to a recent rumor from TVLine, Gibbs will undoubtedly “appear” in at least one sequence over the three hours, which will now premiere on January 9. It might be a passing mention, a lesson he imparted to some of the other agents, or another reference to something we’ve already seen. We’d love to see Mark Harmon (an executive producer who visits the NCIS set) make an appearance, but nothing has been confirmed or hinted at.

Given his numerous connections to all three clubs, it seems to reason that Gibbs would come up during the crossover. He was well-known to even Jane Tennant from NCIS: Hawaii and was a significant factor in getting her hired. We also question if he might be connected to another important character in this crossover, a revered instructor who was instrumental in the education of numerous agents. There will inevitably be some tentacles that reach across the organization when you work as long as Jethro has. The situation we are in right now might be a good illustration of that.
We’re happy that other stalwart cast members can genuinely relish the occasion of all three shows coming together, even though Harmon is no longer an on-screen component of the show. Consider Sean Murray or Brian Dietzen as examples. Since the first season, both have been present, but they have never had the opportunity to accomplish something like this that spans all three shows.
