Sarah Silverman Kanye West: After Kanye West deleted a tweet he had sent, several celebrities, including Jamie Lee Curtis, Sarah Silverman, and others, replied, saying, “Your words wound and inspire violence.” Many famous people are speaking out against Kanye West.
The rapper posted “going death con 3 on Jewish people” in an Oct. 8 tweet that has since been deleted, adding, “you guys have messed with me and tried to blackball everyone that opposes your agenda.”
After reading his message, several others have spoken out against Kanye, including actress Jamie Lee Curtis, who tweeted: “Last week was the holiest day in the Jewish calendar. Words have power. When the Jewish people were threatened, it resulted in genocide. You instigate violence and pain with your words. It’s official: you’re a dad. Refrain from further.”
In the meantime, Sarah Silverman vented her anger over his comments. “Kanye threatened the Jews yesterday on Twitter, and it’s not even trending,” the comic lamented on October 9. “Why do only Jewish people seem to protest Jewish bigotry? The sound of nothingness is deafening.”
Maria Shriver, who also released a message, emphasized solidarity in her writing by saying, “We should all get started right away. People of all political stripes and religious persuasions should denounce these threats and language. This is not something we can ever get over.”
Meanwhile, former Kanye West defender Michael Rapaport posted a video to Twitter where he said, “@kanyewest, I just went to DEFCON 6 Million. Keep being a nuisance. Continuously throughout the day. Interruptive actions.” And Jack Antonoff chimed in, “Kanye a little bitch.”
A Twitter representative told CNN that in addition to deleting the offending message, Kanye’s account had been temporarily suspended for breaking Twitter’s rules. The 45-year-old has been banned from social media before.
Meta confirmed to NBC News that content from Kanye’s Instagram feed was deleted for breaking company regulations hours before his tweet.
