Shandra Page Edwards: Grey’s Anatomy is paying tribute to its own. The ABC drama pays tribute to two more significant ladies on the season 14 finale and bids farewell to two actresses who played crucial roles in the program’s history.
Thursday night’s broadcast was dedicated “in loving memory” to Shandra “Sha” Page Edwards and Suzanne Patmore Gibbs. It was revealed during the end credits. Shandra Page Edwards
The Hollywood Reporter claims that Patmore Gibbs, a TV executive, died in March due to complications after hernia surgery. She was fifty.
Shonda Rhimes revealed that Patmore Gibbs had pushed to get Grey’s Anatomy on television and grieved the TV executive, referring to him as her “very first advocate.” Shandra Page Edwards
There are no adequate words to describe this defeat. Rhimes tweeted in March. “She was my first champion at ABC Studios, the first exec to say maybe Shonda could create a TV Show,’ then she fought like hell to gain us the chance to make the Grey’s Anatomy pilot.
Other well-known TV programs, including Desperate Housewives, The Blacklist, Masters of Sex, and Outlander, were brought to millions of households by the mother of two.
“Suzanne Patmore Gibbs was a fierce advocate for all that is right and good in this world. She fought for women’s voices before it was fashionable to do so. And while male network presidents often receive the credit for her work, Suzanne was the primary creative force behind Grey’s Anatomy ever making it to the air,” Grey’s showrunner Krista Vernoff was quoted as saying in THR.
