The Boys Season 4: If ever there was a hint that The Boys’ obscene, crude, shock, and awe element intoxicated audiences, it was the season-four renewal, which occurred just one week after the season-three debut of the program.
It happened to be the episode where the dick who went boom was highlighted. Even if it wasn’t the main explanation, there’s no denying that The Boys saw a spike in viewers. Simply put, what happened after the season three premiere was devilish.
We were left with too many unresolved questions by The Boys’ third season finale, and we can’t wait to see them all answered. What is the return date for the following season, and which characters have advanced to the fourth round?
The Boys Season 4 Potential Release Date: When’s It On?
The Boys’ third season ended on July 8; however, while a fourth was already in the works, there haven’t been many updates on when it would air.
In June, Karl Urban quickly let fans know that the following season’s production would start soon, saying: “On August 22, I believe season four will premiere. I am already anticipating returning and putting my Butcher back on.
“Playing with this gang is enjoyable. We put in a lot of effort and a lot of play, and I can’t wait to see where the characters go after this season is through.”
It turned out that Urban’s information was very accurate—even down to the date. Because the season four premiere screenplay, titled “Department of Dirty Tricks,” was pictured by showrunner Eric Kripke on August 22 on Instagram. Day One, according to the caption.
Hughie’s Jack Quaid swiftly replied to his tweet, announcing the start of season four’s production with a flashback and the following message: “This image was taken on the first day that The Boys worked together on set during season one.
“I’m extremely fortunate and appreciative that I get to re-enter this journey with my family. #TheBoys #Season4 Let’s do this!”
Naturally, some cursing gestures were added to the lovely sentiment. We anticipate that season four of The Boys will be released between June and September, as were the first three seasons. An early filming schedule raises hope that it will return sooner in the summer than in early fall.
The Boys Season 4 Cast: Who Will Be Coming Back?
In the season three finale of The Boys, many characters were on the verge of passing away, but just one did. We’re sad that Black Noir (Nathan Mitchell) won’t return for a second season after Homelander tore out his insides (Antony Starr).
Although Dominique McElligott’s Queen Maeve did not pass away suddenly, it is unknown if she will play the part again. We hope to see her on the call sheet even if her character arc appears to have ended (more on that below).
We do anticipate the following cast members to participate in The Boys season four:
• Jack Quaid as Hughie Campbell Jr
• Laz Alonso as Mother’s Milk (MM)
• Tomer Capone as Frenchie
• Karen Fukuhara as Kimiko Miyashiro
• Erin Moriarty as Starlight/Annie January
• Antony Starr as Homelander
• Chace Crawford as The Deep
• Jessie T Usher as A-Train
• Cameron Crovetti as Ryan
• Giancarlo Esposito as Stan Edgar
• Colby Minifie as Ashley Barrett
• Claudia Doumit as Victoria Neuman
We also predict a Soldier Boy return, which will mean more Jensen Ackles, and that can’t be a bad thing.
The showrunner of The Boys, Eric Kripke, stated that he would be “100%” in favor of a Soldier Boy comeback, essentially confirming this.
“The old TV adage is like, never kill anyone unless you have to. Never close a door, open a window,” he said. “We’ll all have to wait and see, but I can’t imagine the series ending without Soldier Boy making another appearance.”
Ackles continued, “I know Kripke is incredibly savvy about how he sends his characters off because he can always bring them back. I’m eager for a Soldier Boy comeback too. I know plans are being discussed, but I am unsure of their specifics.
“But I told Krip, ‘Look, man, put me in anytime. You tell me when to come running. I’ll come running.'”
Fans of Simon Pegg can rejoice since he will return for season four along with Rosemarie Dewitt from The Staircase as Hughie’s long-lost mother (via Variety).
Elliot Knight from Titans and Rob Benedict from Supernatural also join the cast in unspecified roles, but they’ll likely be recognizable superheroes from the comics.
Speaking of superheroes, Susan Heyward will portray one. Valorie Curry and Sister Sage will assume the role of Firecracker. Actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan from The Walking Dead and Grey’s Anatomy will also be a part of The Boys’ fourth-season cast.
The Boys’ official Twitter account shared the information on social media with the following message: “Chuffed to welcome @JDMorgan to The Boys S4. Unable to know whether he would receive any tights, though.
This material was taken from Twitter. On their website, you might be able to discover the same material in a different format or more details.
So who else could he be if not a super? Oh, the amusement of speculating! For the time being, his other cast members’ reactions to the news of his involvement have only been positive.
Although Morgan’s role hasn’t been made public, we anticipate learning more as the broadcast approaches. And it’s only a matter of time before Jared Padalecki makes an appearance on the program, perhaps as Jensen Ackles’ Soldier Boy’s sidekick. Do you think we can dream?
The Boys Season 4 Plot: What Will Happen?
Your guess is as good as Karl Urban’s, who admitted he didn’t know the characters’ fates during season three of the show.
“I am clueless. That should give you some insight, but yes, not too far away. “Early in July, he remarked. “I anticipate that we’ll… Kripke and I are going to meet, and we expect to start talking about what he has planned.
“I prefer to treat them with respect by allowing them to complete their writing process without interruption from actors asking, “What are we doing?” But I’m impatient. It will be entertaining because they constantly think of crazy things to do.”
Not to put too much pressure on you, but we must know!
Butcher was sentenced to death when we last saw him. The tough-as-nails Supe slayer suffered devastating consequences due to his overuse of the temporary V drug. Unless Kripke has a card in the bag, this might be the end of the road for him.
Also unknown was Queen Maeve’s fate. Soldier Boy devoured her powers during their battle, turning her into a simple mortal.
To live in peace with her partner Elena, Maeve pretends to die to justify her defeat (Nicola Correia-Damude). But we can’t help but hope Maeve comes back.
Speaking of Soldier Boy, we doubt his condition is permanent despite the possibility that he has been placed on ice. If there isn’t a father-son showdown soon, we’re composing a powerfully written letter that will begin, “Dear Eric Kripke, explain yourself.” When he defrosts, he’ll have some scores to settle.
After Homelander took over, Vought and The Seven went haywire. Even though The Deep and A-Train weren’t the gang’s most influential members, they are still around today. The Boys’ fourth season will need to address the company’s restoration in some capacity. We wouldn’t be shocked if Ryan was indoctrinated at a young age.
If that isn’t enough flesh for the bone, we also have to mention the head-turner Victoria Neuman (Claudia Doumit), whose final game plan is still a mystery, but we feel it is coming to light.
Beyond that, The Boys’ creator Eric Kripke has already revealed that upcoming episodes would also feature material from his spinoff program, The Boys Presents Varsity.
Crossover is present, Kripke told Deadline. “And we’re doing our best to create a world where some of the problems and plotlines from season three continue into Varsity’s inaugural season.
“The presidential campaign in the season’s background and some events occurring at the school are responses to The Boys’ third season.
New storylines are developing in that season of the spin-off that we must pick up and carry over to season 4 of the show in addition to Soldier Boy, etc.
Tomer Capone, a Frenchie actor, was hesitant to reveal much when we asked him about what was coming up for one apparent reason:
“What, do you know? I must be sincere. Like you or the fans wondering, “What’s next?” I am nervous, thrilled, and excited.
“Listen, getting the script is like getting the Christmas present I never get. Considering that I don’t observe Christmas. I’m a Jew. It’s similar to gift wrapping. I don’t even want to spoil what Frenchie will get for Christmas in season four.”
The Boys Season 4 Trailer: When Can I Watch It?
The enduring query. We have a long wait ahead of us because filming hasn’t yet begun, but keep checking. When there are any updates, we’ll let you know.
