Tony and Minnie first met when they were both young. In 1978, the two who had grown up next door to one other in Burgwerd, Friesland, started dating. Tony and Minnie had been together for 18 months when Tony made the decision to relocate to Canada. Tony and Minnie got married when they were both 24; their four children are ages 2, 4, and 7.
Sadly, they also had a daughter, Jasmine, who died in 1992 when she was just 2 1/2 months old. Minnie manages the company’s paperwork and finances, and all of the Beets children work at the family firm. Tony and Minnie own an Arizona winter home, and Beets is said to drive a Mercedes convertible valued around $145,000.
One of Tony’s employees doused his dredge pond in gasoline and set it on fire, which was shown on an episode of “Gold Rush” in 2015. He was arrested for performing a “Viking baptism,” as defined under the Yukon Waters Act, and the worker responsible for pouring the gas was fined $1,725.
