Maine’s Turner (WMTW) – In the early hours of Sunday in Androscoggin County, a 79-year-old woman was killed in a head-on collision.
Authorities have reported that Carol Ivers, of Fayette, was killed, and two others were injured in a collision on Turner’s Route 4.
Around 9:50 a.m., Jacob Diaz and a passenger were traveling north on Route 4, according to emergency personnel. Ivers’ truck was struck by Diaz’s when she turned from Upper Street into Route 4.
According to officials, Diaz struck Ivers in the southbound lane while passing a truck. Diaz and his companion were both ejected from the car.
Diaz and Alana Hartford, his passenger, were both taken to a hospital. The authorities have not disclosed the severity of their wounds.
Authorities think another truck may have been hurrying up Center Street in Auburn to the crash site while Diaz was driving his own. Police are looking for the owner of a Dodge pickup truck that is Army green.
