One person was killed and three others were sent to the hospital early Monday morning after a car crashed and caught fire on Sunset Boulevard near Roxbury Road near the Hollywood/West Hollywood line.
Police initially thought the motorist had fled the area on foot during their inquiry. Afterward, the motorist was discovered in critical condition at a hospital.
At 2:32 a.m. on Monday, Los Angeles County firefighters responded to a complaint of a car fire on the 8200 block of Sunset Boulevard near Roxbury Road.
According to the early inquiry, the Tesla is thought to have been driving at Sunset when it collided with a tree, a metal lamp post, and a median.
The adult female passenger perished in the collision, according to authorities. Witnesses claim that she may have been trapped in the burning car. Hospitalized were two female passengers in the back seats.

“The driver exited the vehicle and was picked up by a third party that investigators found out was following the car, and was transported to a local hospital,” said LAPD Sgt. Bruce Borihanh. “Investigators did find that driver and positively identified him. So far we just have him as a male adult at the hospital right now, he’s in critical condition, but investigators are waiting to interview him, and looking at possible charges.”
On the north side of Sunset, the car came to a stop in front of Pink Taco. Before the vehicle was engulfed in flames, onlookers tried to step in and aid the victims.
According to the first inquiry, police believe the car was the only vehicle involved.
By 9 a.m., Sunset Boulevard remained closed at Roxbury Road in both directions as detectives searched the area for traces of the crime.
