She participated in basketball for the girls’ state team as well. Bowie was awarded a sports scholarship to attend the University of Southern Mississippi and pursue various academic interests.
She gave it her all when she competed in long jumps and sprints during her freshman year. At the Conference USA, she finished second outside and third indoors.
Additionally, she qualified for the NCAA Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Championship, where she only jumped once.
