Fans clearly adore Yellowstone, since the show has lasted for five seasons and spawned several spin-offs. Since the premiere of Part 1 of Season 5 in November 2022, however, there have been little announcements on when Part 2 will air.
The show, which Taylor Sheridan (writer of Sicario) and John Linson (producer of Sons of Anarchy) came up with, centers on the Dutton family and their struggle to gain control of the greatest ranch in the United States.
Is there a Yellowstone Season 6 Release Date?
Since Season 6 of Yellowstone will not be produced, there is currently no set air date for the season. Season 5 will be the last, although a new series will debut in the winter of 2023. The second half of the fifth season has begun, but it has struck a snag due to some rumored conflict behind the scenes involving Kevin Costner.
According to rumors, he and Sheridan have been at odds over his four-part Western epic Horizon. There was talk that the program would cease after Season 5 and that Matthew McConaughey might take up the brand with his own series.
Despite denials from Costner’s attorney, Paramount just confirmed Yellowstone’s cancellation and announced the new unnamed series. CEO of Showtime and MTV Entertainment Studios Chris McCarthy released the following statement:
“Yellowstone has been the cornerstone on which we have launched an entire universe of global hits – from 1883 to Tulsa King, and I am confident our sequel will be another big hit, thanks to the brilliant creative mind of Taylor Sheridan and our incredible casts who bring these shows to life.”
When asked about the sequel, 101 Studios’ chief executive officer David Glasser added, “The Dutton narrative continues, continuing up where Yellowstone left off in another epic saga. We can’t wait to share this brand-new adventure with people all across the world.
In a previous article on the matter ( Does Rip Die In Yellowstone Season 5? ), speculations were rife about the fate of certain characters in Yellowstone. Now, as we await the second half of Season 5, the tension only seems to be escalating.
Yellowstone Season 6 Cast: Who is Returning?
Despite the cancellation of Yellowstone Season 6, several of the series’ actors are anticipated to reprise their roles in the new program. Since no one has been officially announced, any of Luke Grimes, Kelly Reilly, Wes Bentley, Cole Hauser, or Kelsey Asbille might return.
In a previous interview with USA Today, Costner offered his views on the show, casting doubt on his future on the show: “He’d rather be out on the ranch than negotiating with others.”

That’s going to cause some issues. His field of operation is not as broad as some would like it to be. …and he has no intention of changing. “I was only going to do one season, but I’ve done this many,” Costner added. “I put my heart and soul into my work.” According to Wes Bentley, there will be a “crazy bloodbath“ in the last episodes of Yellowstone, and it’s unclear who will survive.
Yellowstone Season 6 Plot: What will it be About?
It will be a while before we learn anything about the new show’s plot. For the Duttons, things could get rough in Part 2. Including the tragic loss of Kayce and Monica’s child, Season 5 has given viewers something for which to cry.
