Becca chose Garrett over runner-up Blake Horstmann during the final rose ceremony, even though Garrett had been married before and had expressed problems with his prior union. Kayla was taken aback when Garrett turned and walked out on her. She was unaware that their marriage was in trouble. Soon after their wedding, Garrett treated Kayla and her family coldly and disrespectfully. Garrett demanded half of whatever they had once he abandoned her.
After the ex-legal couple’s battle, Kayla was compelled to pay Garrett money. Garrett’s family, who paid for the couple’s wedding, felt defrauded by Kayla. Even a buddy Garret had known for eight years was baffled as to why he abruptly wanted to stop the connection.
Garrett has already received criticism from fans for liking inflammatory and racially charged Instagram posts earlier in the season, so this wasn’t his first run-in with trouble. Although it was apparent that Becca forgave him, their divergent viewpoints eventually damaged their relationship.
In the summer of 2020, Becca and Garrett called it quits after dating for more than two years. Shortly after his ugly Instagram post defending the cops during the Black Lives Matter campaign, the couple split up.
