Chris Evans Politics: Chris Evans has chosen to enter politics with the bipartisan website A Starting Point at a time when he could utilize his popularity and position, including nearly 14 million Twitter followers, to do practically anything or produce almost any film.
The actor, best known for his work as Captain America of the Avengers, claims he was frustrated by his inability to locate trustworthy, factual information online regarding fundamental political issues and policies.

The website is divided into three sections: “Starting Points,” a glossary-style area with two-minute responses to typical questions posed to our elected officials; “Daily Points,” where participating politicians talk for one minute about any topic of their choosing; and “Counterpoints,” which includes a debate between two elected officials with opposing viewpoints on an issue.
According to Evans, 39, “there are many things you can do as an actor with your name.” There’s no denying that I played a particular character, and it just so happens to align with the part of my nature in terms of being politically involved and caring about the well-being of people in this country. I don’t discourage anyone from doing that because I love alcohol, but there’s no denying that I could be producing alcohol.
He continues, you need to do more with your platform than a mere retweet. Evans is no stranger to political commentary and has even criticized President Donald Trump. He uses social media to express himself openly; this outspokenness was ingrained in him from a young age.

“My opinion is not there on the site,” he claims. Evans and his co-founders, director and producer Mark Kassen and tech entrepreneur Joe Kiani, carefully included representatives from both major parties.
Though it took some effort to get them there, they made over a dozen visits to Washington, D.C., to meet with lawmakers. As a result, they now have more than 170 senators, congresspeople, governors, and mayors featured on the website.

According to Evans, “I expected there would be more readiness and trust, but there wasn’t. “The moment the ball began to move was pleasant. I found that many things I saw influenced me in many ways. They work in government. They are simply individuals attempting to assist others.”
Since the site’s introduction in July, according to Evans, there has been a fantastic response. He claims that if all that is accomplished is a voter who would not otherwise be politically engaged. “More votes seem to indicate success.” He adds: “We have the authority. The figures are at hand.
