Garth Brooks Came Out Of Retirement For A Las Vegas Residency
Garth Brooks declared his retirement from the music industry in 2001. As a father of three, the country music artist desires to devote more time to his loved ones. Despite saying he’d come out of retirement after his youngest daughter graduated from high school (in 2014), Brooks returned to music much sooner.
Steve Wynn, CEO of Wynn Hotels and a millionaire real estate developer and art collector, made Brooks a significant offer that convinced him to return to music. From 2009 through 2014, Wynn hosted Brooks in a concert residency at Encore Las Vegas titled Garth at Wynn.
It was mutually decided that Brooks would only perform on weekends (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) so that he could spend his weekdays caring for his family. Wynn offered Brooks a private aircraft to fly to and from the concert in Las Vegas and his home in Oklahoma.
Brooks’s complete musical comeback began with his Las Vegas residency. Based on the repertoire of his Las Vegas performances, he issued a most excellent hits album in 2013. He announced during an interview on Good Morning America in December 2013 to promote the album Blame It All on My Roots: Five Decades of Influences.

The CEO provided the country music artist with a Challenger with 11 seats so that he could travel between Las Vegas and Oklahoma. When pressed for specifics regarding the plane, Brooks played down his knowledge.
Brooks shrugged and admitted, “I don’t know anything about jets” (per CNN). The interior is excellent; the paint job is fantastic, and other than that, I don’t know what else to say. However, I can travel to Las Vegas and visit my family. In that respect, it’s just fantastic.
