His single “Money Can’t Buy You Love” peaked at #3 on the R&B charts in 1992. The soundtrack for the film Mo’ Money featured this very acclaimed song as well.

When Ralph Tresvant began his career in 1981, he was a very young man—just thirteen years old. Ricky Bell and he formed a partnership, and they were thereafter known as Ricky and Ralph.
They went on to meet a slew of other musicians, including Michael Bivins, Bobby Brown, Johnny Gill, and countless more. They quickly came together to become New Edition, and in 1983 they dropped their first album, Candy Girl.
Popular tracks from the album included “Popcorn Love,” “Jealous Girl,” and others. They went on to release a slew of further albums, such as 1984’s self-titled album, 1985’s All for Love, and countless more.
With the release of his self-titled album in 1990, Tresvant began performing alone. In 1994, It’s Goin’ Down was his second solo album that came out. Rizz-Wa-Faire, his final solo effort, was released in 2006.
Heads of State was formed in 2008 by him, Johnny Gill, and Bobby Brown. He joined them on their European tour. Additionally, Tresvant has done radio shows and has made multiple appearances on television.
