Normani Announces Debut Album

Normani Has Announced the Release of Her Eagerly Anticipated Debut Solo Album, “Dopamine”!

Normani has revealed her impending debut album, titled “Dopamine,” and provided a sneak peek of a new song after years of dropping teasers for her band Fifth Harmony’s breakup.

Fans noticed yesterday that the singer deleted all of her social media accounts, which is a common move by musicians to mark the start of a new chapter in their lives.

The cover of “Dopamine,” which shows her on a jet-black rocket against a white backdrop, was posted on Instagram by her today. She captioned her photo, “Crying as I type this. DOPAMINE THE ALBUM.” No release date was specified.

Normani posted a teaser of a new song that might be on the upcoming album on her TikTok account in response to the news of “Dopamine.” Normani, who first gained notoriety as a founding member of Fifth Harmony, has long been deserving of this.

Founded in 2012, the quintet put out two albums prior to Camila Cabello, a fellow member of 5H, leaving in December 2016. Staying put, Normani worked on the newly formed quartet’s third and last album of the same name, which came out in 2017.

Fifth Harmony disbanded the next year, opting to put the group on hold and concentrate on their individual endeavors. In the years thereafter, Normani’s career as a solo artist has been marked by various ups and downs.

Normani Announces Debut Album

She signed as the first artist with Keep Cool/RCA Records, and soon after, a solo album was scheduled to be released. However, Normani instead released a few singles here and there, such as the popular songs “Dancing With a Stranger” with Sam Smith and “Love Lies” with Khalid.

She’s had some chart success; her solo single “Motivation” broke into the top 40, while her Cardi B duet “Wild Side” peaked at No. 14 on the Billboard Hot 100.

By announcing in 2022 that she had inked a worldwide publication agreement with Hipgnosis Songs Group and that new music was in the works, Normani gave teasers about the impending release of her debut album.

After her May 2023 breakup with S10 Entertainment manager Brandon Silverstein, she signed a new management contract a few months later with Brandon Creed and Lydia Asrat, who together are in charge of Charli XCX, Troye Sivan, and Coco Jones’ careers.
