According to his publicist, Clif Doyal, country artist Jake Flint passed away on Saturday, just hours after being married.
Country Singer Jake Flint Dies At 37 Years Old.
Clif Doyal informed The Oklahoman that Flint passed away in his sleep after the wedding ceremony, even though the official cause of death hasn’t been disclosed yet.
On Monday, Flint’s wife, Brenda Flint, posted a video of the couple dancing and having fun at their wedding on Facebook.
Brenda Flint captioned the video, saying, “I don’t understand.
Brenda Flint posted on Facebook on Tuesday that she was choosing clothes to bury her husband in when they could have been looking through wedding photos.
She said, “People aren’t supposed to feel this much anguish. I can’t take much more, and I need him to return. I need him here.”
He wasn’t simply a customer; he was also a close friend and a wonderful guy, Doyal told The Oklahoman. I believe a lot of it was because he was a people person with an incredible sense of humor. He made everyone laugh and feel welcome, as seen by the outpouring on social media.
Also, telling E was Doyal. On Wednesday, it was revealed in a statement that Flint was “a prolific songwriter, recording artist, and in-demand live performer throughout the Midwest and Southwestern US.”
With his contagious smile and endearing sense of humor, Clif Doyal stated, “He was also a devoted supporter of his fellow musicians, always prepared to offer a hand to help anyone who needed it. I hope that, along with his music, will be his lasting legacy.
Insider contacted Doyal for comment, but they did not answer right away. Later, Jake Flint’s family released a statement claiming that he had lived his life “to the fullest.”
We are devastated by this awful loss. His wife, Brenda, adored Jacob as a son, brother, uncle, and partner. His songwriting showed that he treasured his friends and family and lived life to the fullest. His wit, charisma, talent, and compassion are remembered by everyone who knew him, according to a statement from his family provided to Insider.
“We appreciate the outpouring of sympathy and the numerous lovely remembrances of Jacob’s influence on many lives that have been shared. Although we regret what may have been, we are happy that his talent and passion are preserved in his songs.
Brenda Cline, who served as Flint’s previous manager, posted the sad news of his passing on Facebook on Sunday and said, “I loved him much like a son.”
The funniest, most amusing, hardest-working, and most committed artist I have ever collaborated with. After Michael and Brenda got married—which was yesterday—we were just about to start a business venture together, Cline wrote.
According to Jake Flint’s official Spotify page, which has 668 followers as of this writing, he was an Oklahoma native raised in an “oilfield boom town” before migrating to Tulsa. Brenda Cline did not immediately respond to Insider’s request for comment.
According to the article, he was inspired by Texas singer-songwriters Guy Clark and Townes Van Zandt, folk music, ’90s grunge rock, and other sounds he heard coming from his older sister’s room.
Flint started playing music after learning that his father had Lou Gehrig’s disease, better known as ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), which prevented him from “physically providing for his son.”
Jake Flint, according to his Spotify page, “floated through life experience, writing about it all. [His father] commission a couple of his best friends to teach him a guitar.”

Before his passing, Flint released two studio albums, “I’m Not OK” (2016) and “Jake Flint,” in addition to two live albums, “Live and Not OK at Cain’s Ballroom” (2018) and “Live and Socially Distanced at Mercury Lounge” (2021).
The Oklahoman reports that he has three singles charted on the Texas Regional Radio Report. He also received recognition at local events, such as the We Are Tulsa Music Awards, where he was voted breakout artist of the year for 2019.
Mike McClure, who helped Flint develop his debut record and is a member of the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame, lauded the late singer’s love of music and his kind nature.
“He was just a straight-up good dude, and not only worked on his music but tried to help pave the road for some other artists that hadn’t recorded yet,” McClure said in an interview with The Oklahoman.
Flint was in the middle of a multi-state tour that would continue after his wedding, during which he would play regional hits including “Cowtown,” “Long Road Back Home,” and “What’s Your Name” from the years 2017, 2018, and 2020.
A memorial service for Flint will be held on December 5 in Claremore, Oklahoma. His family has established a GoFundMe campaign to assist with funeral expenses.
