Antonio Dennard, a former NFL player, died at age 32. Antonio Dennard was shot early on Sunday in the Legends Bar and Restaurant parking lot in Muhlenberg Township, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Reading.
According to the local daily, The Reading Eagle, the former cornerback was transported to Reading Hospital in a private vehicle before being declared dead in the operating room.
His death was classified as a homicide by authorities, and detectives are looking into it.
Before entering the NFL, Antonio Dennard played collegiate football at Langston University in Oklahoma. He was signed as a cornerback to the practice squads of three NFL clubs throughout his career: the New York Giants, the Green Bay Packers, and the Jacksonville Jaguars. In 2015, the athlete also participated in an Indoor Football League competition for the Arizona Rattlers.
On Tuesday, October 18, Dennard will undergo an autopsy.
