Gospel Musician And Stellar And Dove Nominee Kevin Lemons Dies At 44!
According to his publicist, Kevin Lemons, a gospel musician and choir conductor, passed away early on Saturday after fainting at his home in Union City.
Higher Calling, a choir with more than 100 members that will celebrate its 27th year of gospel singing, was founded and directed by 44-year-old Kevin Lemons.
“Third Round,” the group’s most recent album, was nominated for Dove and Stellar Gospel Music Awards. “For Your Good,” the breakthrough song, received over 100,000 plays and peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard gospel digital sales chart.
According to a statement announcing his passing, Kevin Lemons worked as the vocal director for the Netflix movie “Come Sunday.” Lemons was up listening to gospel music.
According to the announcement, information regarding a memorial service will be released soon.
In a statement, Bishop Hezekiah Walker praised Lemon as one of the sweetest and most modest musicians he had ever seen.
“His evident love for others was an outgrowth of his love for God, which seasoned everything he did. Kevin Lemons was a kind person, and he will be dearly missed.

When Lemons and a group of young singers gathered for a unique music event produced by Lemons’ father, Wilbert Lemons, Kevin Lemons & Higher Calling was born. The illustrious Atlanta Masonic Choir, established by Kevin’s grandmother Annie Ruth Lemons, was directed by Kevin’s father.
50 vocalists from Atlanta and 50 more from Alabama, California, Florida, Virginia, Maryland, the Washington, D.C., region, and New Orleans made up Kevin Lemons & Higher Calling.
“Destined for Greatness,” “The Declaration,” which reached No. 10 on the Billboard Gospel Albums Chart, and “Third Round,” which was released in 2021, are some of the albums from Higher Calling.
