Hilarie Ros Burton is an actress, businesswoman, novelist, and producer from the United States. She was a former MTV Total Request Live host who played Peyton Sawyer on the WB/CW drama One Tree Hill for six seasons (2003-2009). Burton went on to star in Our Very Own, Solstice, and The List after One Tree Hill.
She has also appeared in television series as Sara Ellis on White Collar (2010–2013), Dr. Lauren Boswell on the ABC medical drama Grey’s Anatomy (2013), Molly Dawes on the ABC drama series Forever (2014), and Karen Palmer on the Fox television series Lethal Weapon (2016).

Burton went on to host the MTV Video Music Awards in 2000 and MTV’s Iced Out New Year’s Eve in 2001. In 2002, Burton made her television debut as herself in The WB (now The CW) drama series Dawson’s Creek.

Acting and Producing
In April 2003, Burton was cast as Peyton Sawyer, an independent visual and musical artist, and cheerleader, in The WB drama series One Tree Hill. The series debuted on September 23, 2003, and quickly became the network’s highest-rated show of the year.
The character was considered Burton’s breakthrough role and remains her most well-known. Burton was featured on the covers of Maxim, American Cheerleader Magazine, and People for her role in the series.
Her performance gained critical acclaim and was nominated for three Teen Choice Awards. The CW revealed in May 2009 that Burton would not be returning for the show’s seventh season due to her personal decision, contrary to speculations that she quit due to salary concerns.
Burton’s public profile grew as a result of One Tree Hill. She was #77 on Maxim’s “Hot 100 List of 2007” in May 2007. She also appeared on the cover of Maxim magazine in November 2006 alongside One Tree Hill co-stars Sophia Bush and Danneel Harris.
