Is Jojo Siwa Gay Or Straight?
I’m so proud of Jojo, age 17, who came out as gay two years ago, said Jojo Siwa. In 2021, Jojo Siwa publicly came out on social media. A few months later, in an interview, she told People, “I never intended [coming out] to be a huge issue.” I’ve never received this much assistance from the world. I don’t believe I’ve ever been this content in my own life.
“I’m Not Sure What I Am.” I want to figure it out. I don’t know: bisexual, pansexual, queer, lesbian, gay, or straight. “I always just say gay” or “queer” because I think those words are incredible,” she said, adding that she has thought about calling herself “pansexual.” “Technically, I’m pansexual because that’s how I’ve always been.” It’s like, “My human is my human.”
Celebrating Her Second Anniversary of Coming Out as Gay, Jojo Siwa
Two years have passed since Jojo Siwa first came out as gay.
The adolescent sensation posted about the occasion on Instagram on Saturday, January 21. The singer shared a photo of herself online in January 2021, when she was 17 years old, wearing a T-shirt that read, “Best. Gay. Cousin. Ever.”
One day after Siwa shared a video of herself lip-syncing to Lady Gaga’s LGBT song “Born This Way,” which led to rumors that she was lesbian, the shirt was made public. Siwa later revealed her sexual orientation in an interview with Jimmy Fallon. She said uploading that shirt shot to the Tonight Show host was a reasonably significant risk.

But because I’m genuine and only love the people I want to love, I don’t want to lose what I’ve achieved. If I can’t love the person I want to be with, I don’t want that.
Siwa has advocated for LGBT representation since she came out two years ago. She has even called out Candace Cameron Bure, a former coworker of Sweetin’s.
Bure said in November that the religious network Great American Family would emphasize “traditional marriage”—marriage to a man and a woman—in its narratives. “Rude and insulting to a whole community of people,” said Siwa of this.
