Even though Folie à Deux won’t be available to play for some time, that doesn’t mean we aren’t excited about it.
No one could disagree that the first Joker movie was a fascinating period in contemporary filmmaking, even though it was welcomed with widespread praise and some criticism.
The film, which followed the story of the notorious criminal but was partly fictionalized, was inspired by Martin Scorsese’s Taxi Driver.
It got 11 Oscar nominations, winning Best Original Score and Best Actor and becoming a critical and commercial success.

On October 4, 2024, Joker: Folie à Deux will be released in theatres across the globe.
Although it may seem like a very long time before then, rest assured that we won’t be hanging out to dry. Only this past week, filmmaker Todd Phillips tweeted a picture from the set, with production starting earlier this month.
Phillips uploaded the image to his Instagram account and captioned it, “Arthur Fleck looking serious while receiving a shave from an unknown individual.”

Probably a member of the staff of Arkham Asylum, where Arthur is being held captive at the moment.
In addition, Phillips included the photograph with the message “Day 1. Our boy. #joker.” And before long, the image had spread like wildfire, informing the entire world that production had finally started rolling its cameras.
